Spent money.

Broke one of my 2012 resolutions again. (click to see what they all are)

One of my resolutions is to not buy clothes, shoes, or jewelry. This is pretty much unavoidable sometimes so it’s not entirely a black & white resolution, but more of a strong rule I made to avoid frivolous spending. I knew I’d spend money at some points in the year on these things, but to keep it limited is the idea here.

I spent $33 on new work shoes that I needed desperately. Woohoo. Lol.

The point of this post tho, is that I’ve realized how much SHIT we all buy that we totally don’t need. If I hadn’t made this resolution, I know for a fact I would have bought quite a few clothes this year already. And if you look at my closet, I have PLENTLY of fucking clothes. I do not need one more damn piece of clothing in my existence. This resolution has forced me to bust out some old clothes that I kinda forgot I had, but totally loved it. I’m rockin what I got, and have had for years now. It’s great! And I’m able to save all the money that I would have spent due to plain boredom. Oh, also, it places less emphasis on material things. Who gives a shit what shirt you wear? It’s just a means to an end.

Anyways… just a small revelation I’ve had recently. My advice: think before you spend. Do you really need it? De-clutter your life, stop spending money on stupid shit, and rather spend your time (that you would have spent shopping) on bettering yourself on the inside & not the outside. It feels great, I promise.

:)
